What it is
The M2 is a two-channel DJ scratch mixer from Numark, released in June 2008 (Numark product page). It is an analogue mixer with no USB audio or software, made for turntables, CD players and other line sources.
Each channel has a selector for two sources. Two RCA inputs switch between phono and line level, with a grounding terminal for turntable ground wires, and two more RCA inputs take line-level devices such as CD players, samplers or an audio interface. A 1/4-inch mic input has its own gain, bass and treble.
Each channel has gain and a three-band EQ. The crossfader is user-replaceable and has reverse and slope controls, and Numark says a worn fader should be swapped for an authorised replacement from a Numark retailer. Headphone cueing works with a crossfader-style control.
Outputs are master and record on RCA and a 1/4-inch headphone jack; the record output runs at pre-master level for a recorder. There are no XLR or booth outputs. The M2 runs from an external 10 V AC adapter, measures 290 x 242 x 91 mm and weighs 3.0 kg.
The box holds the mixer, the power adapter, the quickstart guide and a safety and warranty manual (M2 quickstart guide). RCA cables and headphones are not included.
