The Internet’s Opinion

From 5 professional reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

Four of five professional reviews recommend it as a compact DJM-V10 for long blends, for its sound, a compressor on every channel, the cross-pass filter and focused send effects; MusicTech is mixed and finds it too expensive for what it leaves out. All five note the price, and four say it suits only slow, layered mixing, with no crossfader or Beat FX. No owner reviews were found.

Our take

Four of five professional reviews recommend the DJM-V5 as a compact DJM-V10 for long blends, for its sound, a compressor on every channel, the new cross-pass filter and focused send effects; MusicTech is mixed. All five note the price, and four say it suits only slow, layered mixing, with no crossfader or Beat FX. No owner reviews were found. Buy it for long house and techno blends, not for scratching or effects-heavy sets.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. AlphaTheta still lists the DJM-V5.

What it is

The DJM-V5 is a three-channel DJ mixer from AlphaTheta, announced on 20 January 2026 (DJ Mag) and modelled on the six-channel DJM-V10 (AlphaTheta product page). Each channel switches between phono, line and USB and has a trim, a one-knob compressor, a four-band EQ (HI and LOW cut fully, the two mids to -26 dB), a filter knob, a send knob and a 60 mm long-throw fader. There is no crossfader. One of the three fader curves, the Soft Mix Curve, opens a filter as the fader rises. The filter section sets one type for every channel: XPF, a new cross-pass filter that keeps the low end, or LPF or HPF, with resonance.

The send section has six effects (Short Delay, Reverb, Shimmer, Tape Echo, Ping Pong and Echo-Verb) and a return level fader; there are no Beat FX. A built-in SonicLink transmitter sends the cue mix to compatible AlphaTheta wireless headphones.

The rear panel takes three phono and three line inputs on RCA, a combi mic input and a return, and outputs on XLR master, 1/4" TRS booth with a two-band EQ, RCA rec out and a send, with two headphone sockets. One USB-C port goes to a computer, a second Multi I/O USB-C port takes an iPhone, iPad or effects unit such as the RMX-IGNITE, and a LAN port joins a PRO DJ LINK network with CDJ-3000X players. Connecting it unlocks rekordbox Performance mode and DVS; Serato DJ Pro and djay Pro need paid licences. It runs at 96 kHz with 32-bit converters, measures 302.0 x 437.5 x 107.9 mm and weighs 8.0 kg. The box holds a power cord, the Quick Start Guide and Precautions for Use (DJM-V5 manual).
