Beatport Streaming, formerly Beatport LINK, streams Beatport's catalogue into DJ software such as rekordbox, Serato DJ, Traktor and VirtualDJ, and onto hardware including AlphaTheta's CDJ-3000 and Engine DJ standalones. Only the Advanced plan and above work in DJ software, the offline library and lossless audio start at Professional, and Beatport's terms say streams are for personal use, with public performance needing licensing the subscription doesn't include.
What it is
Beatport Streaming is a subscription that plays full tracks from Beatport's catalogue inside DJ software and on DJ hardware. Beatport puts the electronic catalogue at more than 15 million tracks across every electronic genre, and since Beatsource folded into it in 2026 it also carries open-format genres such as hip hop, R&B and Latin. It is the same service this page reviewed as Beatport LINK; the old LINK, LINK Pro and LINK Pro+ tiers and the 50- and 100-track offline lockers no longer exist.
Every plan has a 30-day free trial and can be paid monthly or yearly. Subscribers can also re-download tracks they have bought from Beatport without limit. Beatport Streaming is available worldwide except in US-embargoed countries and China.
The plans
Beatport sells four plans, each including everything in the one before:
- Essential. Full-track playback on Beatport.com, the Beatport DJ web app and the Beatport mobile app. It does not work in DJ software or hardware.
- Advanced. Adds streaming into DJ software and hardware, a free perpetual licence for Native Instruments' Traktor Play, and a month of Pete Tong DJ Academy.
- Professional. Adds an offline library of up to 1,000 tracks and lossless FLAC streaming.
- Professional+. Adds open-format DJ Edits and versions: remixes produced by DJs, extended intros and outros, clean versions and transition tools. These can only be streamed, not bought or downloaded.
Some hardware comes with a trial on top: Native Instruments includes two months of Beatport Streaming with the Traktor MX2, and Traktor Play buyers can claim two months of the Advanced plan.
Where it works
Beatport lists these integrations: rekordbox, Serato DJ, Traktor, VirtualDJ, djay Pro, DJUCED, DEX, DJ.Studio, edjing Mix, future.dj.pro, Tribe XR and WeDJ in software, and the CDJ-3000 and CDJ-3000X, OMNIS-DUO, OPUS-QUAD, XDJ-AZ and Engine DJ OS in hardware. Engine DJ OS covers Denon DJ, Numark and Rane standalones such as the PRIME 4+ and SC LIVE 4.
The DJ software's own terms apply too. Beatport's setup notes say rekordbox needs a licence that includes Performance mode, Serato needs Serato DJ Pro 2.4 or Serato DJ Lite 1.4 or later, and Traktor needs Traktor Pro 3.5.0.6 or later. The catalogue is ready for stem separation, but stems only work where the DJ software supports them in real time. See what rekordbox is, Serato DJ and VirtualDJ, or the best DJ software guide to compare them.
Offline library
On the Professional and Professional+ plans you can save up to 1,000 tracks to play without an internet connection. Three limits apply, per Beatport:
- It works in DJ software, not on the CDJ-3000 and CDJ-3000X, OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO, XDJ-AZ or Engine DJ hardware, which stream only while connected.
- The library stays on the device and the DJ software it was made in. Move to another laptop or another app and you rebuild it while online.
- It is deleted when the subscription ends and can't be recovered. Keeping the tracks in a Beatport playlist lets you add them back if you subscribe again.
Audio quality
Per Beatport's audio quality page, Essential and Advanced stream at 128 kbps AAC. Professional subscribers can switch between 128 or 256 kbps AAC and lossless FLAC in supported DJ software. FLAC isn't available on AlphaTheta's CDJ-3000 and CDJ-3000X, OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ, or on Beatport's own website and apps. After switching to FLAC, Beatport says to clear the DJ software's cache, or previously played and offline tracks keep playing at 256 kbps.
Licensing limits
From Beatport's streaming terms:
- Streams are for personal use. Public performance needs additional licensing that the subscription doesn't include.
- You can use up to five devices, with one streaming at a time and up to four streams at once on that device. Account sharing can end the subscription without a refund.
- Labels can opt out of streaming, so not every track on Beatport's store streams.
- Plays from streaming don't count towards Beatport's charts.
You own nothing you stream; to keep a track, buy it. The DJ pools guide compares streaming with record pools whose downloads are yours to keep.
Beatsource has moved into Beatport
Beatport phased out Beatsource as a separate service and moved its customers' accounts, playlists and streaming plans to Beatport, with the migration due to finish in early May 2026, per its migration FAQ. Beatsource's DJ Exclusives and DJ Edits are called DJ Edits and DJ Versions on Beatport. DJ software makers are removing Beatsource from their apps; Traktor 4.5 has already begun. Tracks that hadn't yet arrived on Beatport show as unavailable in migrated playlists.
How this page is made
Every detail here comes from Beatport's own pages and help centre, plus the Native Instruments and Engine DJ pages linked, read on 12 October 2026. The service was not tested for this page. The opinion summary draws on the two published reviews found, and no retailer this site reads sells the subscription, so there are no owner reviews. Plans and integrations change, so check Beatport's plan page before you subscribe.
