Status, November 2026: current. Apple lists the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 with 16, 24 or 32 GB of memory and 1, 2 or 4 TB of storage.
What it is
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 is Apple's entry-level MacBook Pro, announced on 27 October 2026 and on sale from 6 November. It replaced the 14-inch model with M5, and Apple also sells the 14-inch with M5 Pro or M5 Max, which have Thunderbolt 5 and up to 128 GB of memory, and a MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display on the same two chips. The M6 has a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. Memory and storage are soldered to the board, so choose them at purchase (Tom's Hardware); The Verge advises more than 16 GB for a machine kept for years.
The ports are three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, HDMI, an SDXC slot, MagSafe 3 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack that supports high-impedance headphones. There is no USB-A port, so a controller with a USB-B socket, such as the DDJ-FLX6, needs a USB-C cable, an adapter or a hub. Recording or studio monitors need an audio interface such as the Scarlett 2i2. Apple quotes up to 24 hours of video streaming and a weight of 1.55 kg. Reviewers praise the 120 Hz screen and the speakers, and TechRadar and The Verge rarely heard the fans.
It ships with macOS 27 and can't be taken back to an earlier version. Native Instruments does not yet support Traktor on macOS 27, and rekordbox's requirements stop at macOS 26; Logic Pro and FL Studio meet theirs.
