The Pioneer DJ PLX-1000 is Pioneer's take on the club standard, and it nails the fundamentals. It's the deck to look at when you want serious club performance but the Technics SL-1200MK7 is out of budget.
Built for the floor
The chassis is heavy and well-damped, so it shrugs off the low-end vibration of a loud floor, and the high-torque direct-drive motor snaps up to speed and holds firm under your hand. Detachable cables are a genuinely useful touch for transport and repairs — a small thing that matters a lot to gigging DJs. The deck carries real club credibility at a price that sits comfortably below the Technics.
Where it shows its age
The limitation is features. There's no reverse and none of the creative extras newer decks pack in, so next to something like the Reloop RP-7000 MK2 it can start to feel a little plain for the money.
