Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

Two of three professional reviews recommend it, TweakTown at 97% with no cons listed, for USB-A and USB-C plugs on a small body and fast everyday copies. The reservations are heat and a slowdown on very long writes: Back2Gaming saw it slow after about 200 GB and shut off from heat during a full-drive write, and Tom's Hardware tested it without picking it. Buy it for fast exports from a USB-C laptop; a typical export is far smaller than those writes.

What it is

Status, November 2026: current. Transcend still lists the ESD310C.

What it is

The ESD310C is a solid-state drive the size of a USB stick, with a USB-A plug at one end and a USB-C plug at the other (Transcend product page). It uses USB 10 Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2), and Transcend rates it up to 1,050 MB/s read and up to 950 MB/s write on the 1 and 2 TB sizes, 900 MB/s on the 256 and 512 GB. It is sold from 128 GB to 2 TB, measures 71.3 × 20 × 7.8 mm, weighs 11 g and carries a five-year limited warranty.

TweakTown found it worked even on USB 2.0 ports. Like any stick for Pioneer DJ players, format it FAT32 and export to it from rekordbox; the DJ USB sticks guide explains both.
