The Internet’s Opinion

From 4 professional reviews and 3 owner reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

Reviewers rate the hardware as a fast drive with both plugs. Unlike the DJ edition it isn't set up for the players, and one owner had to repartition it before a CDJ-900NXS would read it.

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

All four professional reviews recommend the hardware, three of them reviewing the identical SanDisk DJ Flash Drive, for USB-A and USB-C plugs and fast writes that finish exports quickly. Unlike the DJ edition it isn't set up for the players, and one owner had to repartition it before a CDJ-900NXS would read it; StorageReview found it runs warm. Buy it for a library too big for 1 TB, and partition it MBR and format it FAT32 for older players.

What it is

Status, November 2026: current. SanDisk still lists the Extreme PRO Dual Drive.

What it is

The Extreme PRO Dual Drive is SanDisk's fastest stick with both a USB-A and a USB-C plug (SanDisk product page). It uses USB 3.2 Gen 2, SanDisk rates it up to 1,000 MB/s read and 900 MB/s write, and it is sold in 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB sizes. It measures 80.0 × 18.3 × 10.7 mm, weighs 23 g and has a lifetime limited warranty.

It is the same hardware as the SanDisk DJ Flash Drive, which AlphaTheta tests with its players and ships formatted for them, but only in 512 GB and 1 TB. This one isn't set up for the players: one owner found it wouldn't read on a CDJ-900NXS until it was repartitioned. The DJ USB sticks guide explains how to format a stick FAT32 for the players.
