AlphaTheta OMNIS-DUO

A battery-powered rekordbox all-in-one with a Bluetooth mixing trick; pricey, and many controls live on the touchscreen.

The Internet’s Opinion

From 9 professional reviews and 6 owner reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

All nine professional reviews recommend it as a well-built, battery-powered rekordbox all-in-one whose Bluetooth Input Playback mixes a phone's track like a file, while most call it expensive next to Denon DJ's Prime Go and several miss buttons for functions moved onto the touchscreen. Owners are less kind: four of the six read at Guitar Center rate it one or two stars, citing slow track loading, screen faults and a unit that stopped working.

What people praise

  • Battery power and a compact, backpack-sized body make it easy to play away from mains power
  • Bluetooth Input Playback lets a track from a phone be cued, looped and mixed like a file
  • Familiar two-deck club layout with larger jog wheels than rival battery units
Show 5 more
  • Solid, well-built feel
  • Easy for DJs already using rekordbox libraries and USB drives
  • Bright, responsive touchscreen with a Light mode for daylight
  • Powered over USB-C, so a laptop charger or power bank can run it
  • Good sound quality

What to know first

  • Expensive for a two-channel unit, and dearer than Denon DJ's Prime Go
  • Bluetooth output lags too much to mix to, and Bluetooth cannot send and receive at once
  • Many functions, including Sync, Slip and effect selection, sit on the touchscreen rather than on buttons
Show 6 more
  • No streaming services at launchFixed
  • Bluetooth Input Playback has to record a track in real time, up to ten minutes, before it can be mixed
  • No built-in SonicLink transmitter, so the WAVE-EIGHT speaker needs its plug-in transmitter
  • No wired line or phono input
  • No key shift or key sync
  • Slow track loading and analysis

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

All nine professional reviews recommend the OMNIS-DUO for its build, battery and a Bluetooth trick that mixes a phone's track like a file, but most call it expensive and several miss buttons for functions moved onto the touchscreen. Four of the six Guitar Center owners rate it one or two stars, citing slow loading and screen faults. Buy it to play rekordbox sets away from mains power; without that need, reviewers point to the XDJ-RR or XDJ-RX3.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. AlphaTheta still lists the OMNIS-DUO.

What it is

The OMNIS-DUO is a portable two-channel all-in-one DJ system with a built-in battery from AlphaTheta, the company behind Pioneer DJ, announced on 25 January 2024 as the first product under the AlphaTheta name (AlphaTheta product page). It sits in AlphaTheta's all-in-one range with the four-channel XDJ-AZ and the XDJ-AN; Digital DJ Tips called it the company's second next-generation standalone after Pioneer DJ's OPUS-QUAD.

On its own it plays rekordbox exports from a USB-A drive or an SD card, a rekordbox library over Wi-Fi through Link Export from a computer or rekordbox for iOS/Android, and rekordbox CloudDirectPlay. Firmware 1.11 (December 2024) added Beatport Streaming and TIDAL and firmware 1.21 (March 2025) added Apple Music, each needing its own subscription. A phone paired over Bluetooth can feed a deck, where the track takes EQ, effects, tempo changes and Hot Cues. Over USB-C it unlocks rekordbox Performance mode and Serato DJ Lite; Serato DJ Pro and VirtualDJ need paid licences.

Each deck has a jog wheel and eight Hot Cue buttons, a 7-inch touchscreen with Light and Dark modes sits above the mixer, and there are 8 Beat FX and 6 Sound Color FX. Outputs are Master 1 on XLR, Master 2/Booth on RCA, 1/4" and 3.5 mm headphone jacks and Bluetooth, which cannot send and receive at once. There are two mic inputs and no wired line input. The 47.52 Wh battery gives about five hours and charges over USB-C from the supplied adapter or a 45 W power bank. It measures 500 x 307 x 71 mm and weighs 4.6 kg. The manual lists the AC adapter, power cord and paperwork in the box, with no USB cable, and AlphaTheta's OMNIS-DUO page says an RCA cable is included.
