The Internet’s Opinion

From 5 professional reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

Four of five professional reviews recommend it as AlphaTheta's new way into standalone DJing, for a club-style layout, playback from USB, the cloud and streaming without a laptop, and built-in SonicLink; MusicTech is mixed. The repeated reservations are controls moved onto a small touchscreen, short pitch faders, a single rear USB-C media port, no booth output or line input, and only three Beat FX. No owner reviews were available to read.

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

Four of the five professional reviews recommend it as the step from a laptop controller to a club-style standalone that plays USB, cloud and streaming music on its own; MusicTech is mixed. The repeated compromises are Sync and other controls moved onto a 7-inch touchscreen, short pitch faders, one rear USB-C media port and no booth output. Buy it for home practice towards CDJs; for more features for the money, Digital DJ Tips points to Denon DJ's SC Live 4.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. AlphaTheta still lists the XDJ-AN.

What it is

The XDJ-AN is a two-channel all-in-one DJ system from AlphaTheta, the company behind Pioneer DJ, announced on 9 July 2026 (AlphaTheta product page). Reviewers describe it as the replacement for the XDJ-RR, and it sits below the XDJ-RX3 and the four-channel XDJ-AZ. AlphaTheta bases its layout on the CDJ-3000X and DJM mixers: each deck has a 132 mm jog wheel and eight Hot Cue buttons, and a 7-inch touchscreen sits above the mixer, where settings such as Sync, Quantize and Slip mode now live.

It plays on its own from a USB-C drive exported in rekordbox's OneLibrary format, from a rekordbox library in Dropbox or Google Drive through rekordbox CloudDirectPlay, which needs a rekordbox subscription plan, and over Wi-Fi from Apple Music, Beatport Streaming and Tidal, each with its own subscription.

Connected by USB-C, it unlocks rekordbox for Mac and Windows in Performance mode and Serato DJ Lite, while Serato DJ Pro and djay need paid plans. rekordbox and djay for iOS also run from an iPhone or iPad over USB-C, which AlphaTheta says is a first for an all-in-one, and the DJM-REC app records and streams sets.

Effects are three Beat FX, Reverb, Echo and Flanger, and six Sound Color FX. Outputs are a master on balanced XLR and on RCA and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, with no booth output. Inputs are one 1/4" TRS mic and Bluetooth, which can also send audio out, and a built-in SonicLink transmitter pairs AlphaTheta's HDJ-F10 wireless headphones. Three USB-C ports handle storage, a computer or phone, and power from the supplied adapter. It measures 638 x 359.2 x 89.9 mm and weighs 5.2 kg. The box holds the AC adapter, power cord and paperwork, with no USB cable.
