Hercules DJControl Inpulse T7

The cheapest controller with motorised vinyl platters; a plastic build, loose faders and a sparse rear panel are the price.

The Internet’s Opinion

From 4 professional reviews and 9 owner reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

All four professional reviews recommend it as the cheapest controller with motorised platters, for a vinyl feel that reviewers compare with real turntables, dedicated stems buttons and XLR outputs, and owners at Thomann and Guitar Center repeat the platters and the stems. The reservations are a plastic build with loose faders, no inputs or booth output, and a few owner reports of noise, a failed port or a dead unit.

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

All four professional reviews recommend it, for one reason above all: motorised 7-inch platters under real vinyl that reviewers compare with turntables, at a price no other motorised controller matches. Owners at Thomann and Guitar Center repeat the platters and the stems buttons. The reservations are a plastic shell, faders with play, no inputs or booth output, and a few owner reports of noise or dead units. Buy it to learn vinyl-style mixing in Serato; step up for club use.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. Hercules still lists the DJControl Inpulse T7.

What it is

The DJControl Inpulse T7 is a two-deck controller for Serato DJ and DJUCED, and the first Hercules controller with motorised platters (Hercules product page). Hercules unveiled it at NAMM on 13 April 2023, opened pre-orders on 21 June and set worldwide availability for 12 September 2023 (Hercules press release). It sits above the brand's DJControl Inpulse 500 and Inpulse 300 MK2. A Premium Edition, sold alongside it, adds a Premium Fader Module with double-rail faders, two scratch slipmats, a travel bag and gold accents (Hercules), and in October 2026 Hercules added the larger DJControl T10 above it, with 10-inch platters, a contactless crossfader and a booth output.

The two metal platters are motorised, run at 33⅓ RPM (45 RPM in Serato DJ Pro) and, as Hercules states, go from 0 to 33⅓ RPM in a tenth of a second. A 7-inch record and felt slipmat sit on each, held by the central axis, and touch detection on the record controls the track. The platters are belt-driven; Hercules says the belts were tested beyond typical DJ use and replacements are available through its customer support (Hercules). Each deck has eight pads with eight modes including Hot Cue, Loop and Stems, a 3.9-inch (10 cm) tempo fader, Instrumental and Vocal stem buttons, Play, Cue, Sync and Loop controls, and a Beatmatch Guide. The mixer has a three-band EQ, filter, gain, a VU meter and an effects paddle per channel, a crossfader with adjustable amplitude and a mix, scratch or off curve switch, and an effects section with two sets of three select buttons.

The built-in 24-bit/44.1 kHz audio interface feeds two XLR and two RCA master outputs, with headphones on 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch jacks and a balanced 1/4-inch mic input; there are no line or phono inputs. It is powered by a DC adapter, connects to the computer over USB, has retractable feet and built-in handles, measures 65.2 x 35 x 9 cm with the feet extended and weighs 5 kg. Serato DJ Lite and DJUCED are included, Serato DJ Pro is a paid upgrade, and VirtualDJ needs a Pro licence. Hercules's shop lists the box as the controller, a braided USB cable, two felt slipmats, two 7-inch replica records, the power adapter and a quick start guide (Hercules eShop).
