The Internet’s Opinion

From 0 professional reviews and 103 owner reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

Owners rate it as a solid, quiet microphone cable for its price, and many report years of use without a fault. The reservations are a jacket some find stiff or prone to twisting, budget REAN plugs and a minority of early failures, so several keep it for fixed setups rather than nightly gigs.

What people praise

Show 4 more
  • No hum or interference
  • Soft and easy to coil
  • Coloured rings make lengths and ends easy to tell apart

What to know first

  • Jacket is stiff, twists or takes a set when coiled
  • REAN plugs are a budget grade below Neutrik's own
  • Crackle, drop-outs or failure, sometimes after little use
Show 2 more
  • Better suited to fixed setups than nightly plugging and coiling
  • The moulded sleeve makes a proper repair hard

Works with

  • XLR master outputs on DJ controllers and all-in-onesMale socket, female plug

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10 and XDJ-RX3 have balanced XLR Master 1 outputs; the cable's female end plugs into them and its male end into the speaker. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DDJ-FLX10 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

  • DJ mixers with an XLR masterBalanced master

The Pioneer DJ DJM-450 has an XLR master output beside its RCA master. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DJM-450 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

  • Powered speakers and studio monitors with XLR inputsBalanced XLR input

The Mackie Thump GO takes XLR or 1/4-inch TRS on its combo inputs, and the JBL 305P MkII has a balanced XLR input. Manufacturer spec sheet (Mackie (Thump GO spec sheet)), checked 2026-11-07

  • Dynamic microphonesMade as a mic cable

Cordial sells the CCM FM as a microphone cable, XLR female to XLR male, for a mic into an XLR or combo mic input. Manufacturer spec sheet (Cordial), checked 2026-11-07

You’ll also need

  • A second cableOne per side

A stereo XLR master has separate left and right sockets, so a pair of speakers needs two cables of the same length. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DDJ-FLX10 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

  • A TRS-to-XLR cable for a booth outputBooth outputs are TRS

The DDJ-FLX10's booth output is a balanced 1/4-inch TRS jack, so a monitor's XLR input needs a TRS-to-XLR male cable rather than this one. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DDJ-FLX10 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

No professional review was found. Of 103 Thomann owner reviews, 41 praise the build for its price, 16 describe years of use without a fault and 13 report no hum. Ten find the jacket stiff or prone to twisting, nine note its REAN plugs are a budget grade, and seven had crackle or a failure. Buy it for a setup that stays wired, at home or in a booth; for coiling every night, choose a road cable.

What it is

Status, November 2026: current. Cordial still lists the CCM FM in its Essentials range.

What it is

The CCM FM is Cordial's lower-priced microphone cable, with a 3-pin XLR female plug at one end and an XLR male plug at the other, sold in nine lengths from 0.5 m to 20 m (Cordial product page). Two twisted bare-copper cores of 0.22 mm², each made of 28 fine strands, sit under a spiral shield of bare copper wire with 90% coverage. Cordial's bulk cable datasheet gives a matte PVC jacket 5.9 mm across. The plugs are REAN, Neutrik's lower-priced brand, hand-soldered, with a moulded bend-protection sleeve, and the plug shell can be opened. The female plug carries a coloured ring with a labelling field, per Thomann's listing. Cordial's page gives no warranty term.

The female end plugs into an XLR master output, such as Master 1 on the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10, and the male end into a powered speaker or monitor; a stereo pair needs two. Of 103 owner reviews read at Thomann, 41 praise the build for the price, 16 describe years of use without a fault and 13 report no hum. Ten found the jacket stiff or prone to twisting when coiled, and seven had crackle or a failure, two of them blaming wires stripped too far inside the plug. Several owners say it suits fixed setups better than nightly coiling.
