The Internet’s Opinion

From 3 professional reviews and 1 owner review: a fair amount of evidence.

Three YouTube reviewers rate it well for a thick cable and well-made REAN connectors, and one owner calls it reliable; no magazine review or measured test was found, and one reviewer notes that Hosa's dearer Edge line has a longer strain relief.

Works with

  • XLR master outputs on DJ controllers and all-in-onesBalanced XLR master

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10 has balanced XLR Master 1 outputs; the cable's female end plugs into the output and its male end into the speaker. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DDJ-FLX10 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

  • Powered speakers with XLR inputsXLR or TRS combo input

The Mackie Thump GO takes XLR or 1/4-inch TRS on its two combo inputs. Manufacturer spec sheet (Mackie (Thump GO spec sheet)), checked 2026-11-07

  • Dynamic microphonesMade as a mic cable

Hosa sells it as a microphone cable, XLR female to XLR male, for a mic into an XLR or combo mic input. Manufacturer spec sheet (Hosa), checked 2026-11-07

You’ll also need

  • A second cableOne per side

A stereo XLR master has separate left and right sockets, so a pair of speakers needs two cables of the same length. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DDJ-FLX10 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

  • A TRS-to-XLR cable for a booth outputBooth outputs are TRS

The DDJ-FLX10's booth output is a balanced 1/4-inch TRS jack, so a monitor's XLR input needs a TRS-to-XLR male cable rather than this one. Manufacturer spec sheet (AlphaTheta (DDJ-FLX10 manual)), checked 2026-11-07

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

All three YouTube reviews recommend it, and the one Guitar Center owner review read calls it reliable; no magazine review was found. They agree on a thick, sturdy cable and well-made REAN connectors with heat-shrunk solder joints. The reservation is small: one reviewer found its strain relief shorter than on Hosa's Edge line. Buy it as an everyday XLR cable for a DJ master output or a mic; it has a lifetime warranty.

What it is

Status, November 2026: current. Hosa still lists the Pro Microphone Cable in nine lengths.

What it is

The Pro Microphone Cable is an XLR cable with a 3-pin female plug at one end and a male plug at the other, sold in nine lengths from the 3-foot HMIC-003 to the 100-foot HMIC-100 (Hosa product page). The plugs are REAN connectors by Neutrik AG, with silver-plated contacts. Inside are two 20 AWG oxygen-free copper conductors under an OFC braided shield with 90% coverage. Hosa publishes no outer diameter, jacket material or capacitance, and covers its cables with a lifetime warranty.

The female end plugs into an XLR master output, such as Master 1 on the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10, and the male end into a powered speaker like the Mackie Thump GO; a stereo pair needs two. Brandon Havrilla took it apart beside Hosa's standard cable and its Edge line, and placed it between them: better connectors than the standard, with each wire heat-shrunk and more solder, but a shorter plastic strain relief than the Edge. discjockeynews opened one after about five years of use and found the same heat-shrink over the joints. Reviewers describe the cable itself as thick and sturdy.
