Status, October 2026: current. AlphaTheta still lists the RMX-IGNITE.
What it is
The RMX-IGNITE is a DJ effector and sampler from AlphaTheta, announced on 15 January 2026 as the successor to the Pioneer DJ RMX-1000 of 2012 (AlphaTheta launch news). It is neither a controller nor a mixer: it sits in a mixer's send/return loop, on the master output or between a player and the mixer, and processes the audio that passes through it.
Most of the top panel is a 3-Band FX section. Three levers apply Lever FX (Echo, Reverb, Juggle, Reverse, Solo and Stretch) and three large knobs apply Isolate FX (Tape Echo, Reverb, Drive, Filter, Ducker and Rhythm), each to the low, mid or high band, with sub-parameter knobs and a Release Echo button that clears everything with an echo tail. The sampler has four trigger pads, 20 built-in Loopmasters samples, ten roll patterns with Groove Roll, Overdub and six Sampler Color FX. Your own samples are prepared in the free RMX-IGNITE Sample Manager for Mac and Windows and load from a USB drive or from a player on PRO DJ LINK.
The rear panel has a 1/4-inch TS input and output with a CONNECTION switch, two USB-C ports (MULTI I/O and power), a USB-A port for samples and a LAN port. With a DJM-A9 or DJM-V10 on current firmware, one USB-C cable carries a digital send/return. AlphaTheta quotes 96 kHz / 64-bit processing, 32-bit ESS converters and a 2.8-inch colour screen (product page).
It measures 340.0 x 213.3 x 72.8 mm and weighs 2.3 kg. The box holds the unit, an AC adapter, a power cord, a Quick Start Guide and safety paperwork; no USB or LAN cable is included (instruction manual).
