Status, November 2026: current. Chauvet DJ still lists the Scorpion Dual RGB ILS, for the US, Mexico and Canada only.
What it is
The Scorpion Dual RGB ILS is an aerial beam laser from Chauvet DJ. Red 30 mW, green 20 mW and blue 50 mW diodes mix into coloured beams that leave through two mirror outputs, with 32 built-in patterns, including Laser Sky (Chauvet DJ product page). Chauvet DJ pitches it for events with fog or haze. Programmable pan, tilt and zoom, X, Y and Z rolling and scan speed shape the shows across a 36° coverage angle.
It runs automatic and sound-active programs, leads or follows other units in master/slave, takes manual colours and patterns from the optional IRC-6 infrared remote, and accepts 10 DMX channels over 3-pin XLR. Nothing wireless is built in: Chauvet DJ's D-Fi USB, sold separately, plugs into its USB port for wireless DMX and master/slave. In ILS mode it follows the laser of the GigBAR Move + ILS, on either side of the bar.
The laser is Class 3R. Its manual says it is for overhead mounting only, with a clamp and a safety cable, and that any laser light must stay at least 3 m (9.8 ft) above the floor people stand on and 3 m from the audience; the laser guide covers the rules. Chauvet DJ calls it FDA compliant and variance-free.
It weighs 1.7 kg, measures 216 x 179.5 x 161 mm and draws 20 W. The box holds the laser, a power cord and a quick reference guide. The older Scorpion Dual RGB without ILS is a separate model.
