Chauvet DJ GigBAR Move + ILS

A one-carry bar of movers, pars, derbies, laser and strobe that sets up fast; deep DMX control is awkward.

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

No written professional review of the GigBAR Move + ILS was found, so this rests on 15 owner reviews read at Thomann and Guitar Center. Seven owners say it sets up in minutes and runs from the remote or footswitch, and four single out its bright output. The complaints are the price and limited control from third-party DMX desks. Buy it for one carry and little programming at weddings and parties; skip it if you program your own shows.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. Chauvet DJ still lists the GigBAR Move + ILS.

What it is

The GigBAR Move + ILS is an all-in-one lighting system from Chauvet DJ: two moving heads, two pars, two derbies, a laser and a strobe, with built-in UV LEDs, pre-mounted on one bar (Chauvet DJ product page). It appeared in June 2022 as the upgrade to the original GigBAR Move, which Chauvet DJ has listed as discontinued since 2024. Chauvet DJ also sells a cheaper GigBAR Move ILS without the plus, with 10 W moving heads, RGB+UV pars and a red and green laser.

Each moving head has a 32 W LED, separate colour and gobo wheels with nine of each plus open, and Totem mode, which keeps the beams on the dance floor. The pars use hex-colour RGBAW+UV LEDs, and a full-colour LCD gives access to every function.

It runs its own shows, takes DMX in 3, 29 or 51 channel modes, and comes with an RF remote that works without line of sight and a wireless footswitch rated to 30.5 m. A built-in D-Fi transceiver controls other ILS fixtures wirelessly up to 183 m; the SlimPAR Q12BT ILS, for example, follows the pars on one side of the bar.

The laser is Class 3R. Its manual says to install it so any laser light is at least 3 m (9.8 ft) above the floor people stand on and never to aim it where people can be exposed; the laser guide covers the rules.

The bar weighs 14 kg and measures 1100 x 144 x 449 mm, and it can also hang from truss on its 3/8 in threaded inserts. The box holds the bar, a tripod that extends from 1.5 to 2.5 m, the RF remote, the footswitch, a power cord, a carry bag, a tripod bag and the manual.
