AlphaTheta DDJ-GRV6

A four-channel rekordbox and Serato controller laid out like a CDJ-3000 and DJM-A9; short pitch faders, no line inputs.

The Internet’s Opinion

From 8 professional reviews and 6 owner reviews: a fair amount of evidence.

All eight professional reviews recommend it as a mid-priced four-channel controller with a CDJ-3000 and DJM-A9 layout, rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro unlocked, and Groove Circuit or Stems FX for live remixing, and the six owner reviews read are positive. The repeated reservations are a higher price than the DDJ-FLX6, short pitch faders, no line or phono inputs, and rekordbox's stem sound under Drum Swap.

What to know first

  • Costs more than the DDJ-FLX6 it replaces
  • Short pitch faders for a controller this size

Show 5 more
  • rekordbox's stem separation makes Drum Swap and Capture sound rough
  • Groove Circuit may go unused, depending on how you mix
  • Pads are not RGB and the unit gives little visual feedback beyond the laptop screen
  • Plastic, consumer-grade controls despite the club styling
  • Serato's Pitch 'n Time, needed for key shifting, is not included

Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

All eight professional reviews recommend it, most for a CDJ-3000 and DJM-A9 layout at a mid-range price with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro unlocked free, and the six owner reviews read are positive. The reservations are short pitch faders, a mic as the only input, and rekordbox stems that make Groove Circuit sound rough. Buy it to learn four-channel mixing on a club layout; if you mix in turntables or other sources, look elsewhere.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. AlphaTheta still lists the DDJ-GRV6.

What it is

The DDJ-GRV6 is a four-channel DJ controller from AlphaTheta, the company behind Pioneer DJ, announced on 8 October 2024 (AlphaTheta product page). It replaced the DDJ-FLX6 and sits below the DDJ-FLX10. Its layout follows a CDJ-3000 and DJM-A9 setup: 206 mm jog wheels, eight Performance Pads per deck placed above the jogs, Beat FX from the DJM-A9 and Sound Color FX on each channel.

The headline feature is Groove Circuit, which works in rekordbox for Mac and Windows. Drum Swap replaces a playing track's drums with a loop, with a free pack of 40 loops to download, Drum Roll and Trans repeat or chop the drums, Drum Release cuts them with an effect, and Capture saves a track's drums for use in another. In Serato DJ Pro the same section controls Stems FX, and an overlay sheet in the box relabels it.

It is not standalone. rekordbox for Mac and Windows runs in Performance mode without a paid plan, and Serato DJ Pro unlocks free. rekordbox for iOS and Android connects by USB cable only, with channels 1 and 2. djay has been supported since April 2025 with a paid subscription, and VirtualDJ needs a paid licence.

Connections are a 1/4" TRS mic input, a balanced 1/4" TRS master, a second master and a booth on RCA, and headphone jacks in 1/4" and 3.5 mm. Two USB-C ports carry the connection and power: a USB-C computer port can power it alone, while a phone or tablet setup needs a 9 V, 3 A adapter or battery, not supplied. It measures 711.4 x 375.9 x 75.7 mm and weighs 4.6 kg. The box holds a USB-C cable, the overlay sheet and paperwork.
