Our take

Rory TassellWritten from the sources on this page, not from a loan unit.

Only one professional review exists: Pro Mobile recommends the Freedom Flex Stick X4 as powerful, portable and easy to use, praising the tool-free removable batteries, the heavy-duty wheeled case and the white sleeves that give two looks, and states no drawbacks; Guitar Center shows no owner reviews and Thomann does not list it, so the evidence is thin. Chauvet DJ's figures give 92 RGB+WW LEDs a stick, up to 6 hours with all colours on and 8 in one colour. Buy on that basis if four sticks in a case fit your gigs.

What it is

Status, October 2026: current. Chauvet DJ still lists the Freedom Flex Stick X4.

What it is

The Freedom Flex Stick X4 is a set of four battery-powered LED stick lights from Chauvet DJ, each 1.52 m tall with 92 quad-colour (RGB+WW) LEDs, standing on its own base or hanging from the included clips (Chauvet DJ product page). Chauvet DJ's page for it went up in July 2024. The batteries are tool-free and removable, so a charged spare swaps in without taking a stick down, and up to three batteries connect to extend the run time. Chauvet DJ quotes up to 6 hours with every colour on and up to 8 hours in a single colour or a chase; its manual gives a 3-hour recharge, where the product page says 5.

Slip-on white sleeves give each stick a second, diffused look. A stick takes 4 to 94 DMX channels through the included USB-C to XLR adapter, which also links it to other DMX fixtures, and wireless master/slave runs at 2.4 GHz; Chauvet DJ's RFC-XL remote and FlareCON are optional controllers. Up to three sticks connect for what Chauvet DJ calls a runway effect. It also strobes: the strobe lights guide sets out the UK Health and Safety Executive's recommended flash-rate limit for clubs and public performances, as the Epilepsy Society cites it.

A stick weighs 0.6 kg and its base 0.5 kg; the full case weighs 18.5 kg and is 1,608 mm long. The case, Pelican-style with a custom-moulded interior, holds four sticks, four white sleeves, four USB-C to XLR adapters, four batteries, eight clips and a multi-charger. Each stick has an M10 bracket mounting hole, and the manual says to use a safety cable whenever one hangs overhead.
