Australian house producer FISHER has postponed his debut OUT 2 LUNCH festival from December 2026 to 2027, citing venue capacity constraints that prevented the event from scaling to meet demand.
The announcement comes roughly seven months before the planned December dates on the Gold Coast, where FISHER had intended to launch the multi-day festival as part of his broader OUT 2 LUNCH brand.
Venue Limitations Behind Delay
According to The Music, FISHER addressed the postponement directly with fans, acknowledging the setback while explaining the reasoning:
"Really bummed to announce that OUT 2 LUNCH festival has been postponed to 2027. The venue we had our hearts set on just couldn't accommodate the capacity we needed to make this the experience we envisioned."
The producer did not specify which Gold Coast venue had been under consideration or what capacity target the festival required. The decision suggests early-stage venue negotiations fell through, forcing organizers to reassess the timeline rather than compromise on scale.
Festival Brand Expands
OUT 2 LUNCH has grown from FISHER's track title into a recognizable event brand over recent years. The producer has staged OUT 2 LUNCH shows as standalone parties and stage takeovers at festivals globally, building demand for a dedicated multi-day event.
The Gold Coast location would position OUT 2 LUNCH as a summer festival destination in Queensland, competing with established Australian dance music events during the December holiday season. The postponement pushes that debut back by at least 12 months.
FISHER's team has not announced a new venue or confirmed specific 2027 dates. The delay follows a pattern across the festival sector where capacity planning and venue logistics continue to challenge new event launches, particularly for producers expanding from touring into festival promotion.
Ticket holders for the 2026 dates will need to wait for official communications regarding refunds or transfers to the rescheduled event once new details are confirmed.
