When it comes to Pioneer products, we naturally have pretty high standards. The Pioneer DJ DJM 750 MK2 certainly did not disappoint us but managed to exceed our hopes. Right out of the box, the unit looks fantastic and feels very sturdy.
A full metal chassis ensures that it won’t die easily and will be able to withstand many years of rough use. The DJ mixer is pretty heavy, at almost 7kg we can’t say it is convenient when it comes to portability.
As it is more oriented to people who will have it sitting in their home or club setup, that should not be much of an issue.
The four channels offer great freedom for anyone who wants to get creative with their perform seamless mixes and take a step beyond the regular two-track mixing approach. At some point in a DJ’s life, two sources are bound to get limiting.
Expanding can be initially daunting, but is a very rewarding experience when one gets used to managing a wider sonic horizon. You can hook up synths, drum machines, turntables, and other line devices to suit your specific needs. The unit also has a mic input with dedicated EQs, making it well suited for live vocal performances.
In terms of connectivity, there is pretty much everything you could need on the DJM-750MK2: four pairs of Line/Phono inputs, ¼” jacks for the Send/Return, ¼” booth outputs, USB, RCA/XLR master outputs, mic input, and the three-pronged power receptacle.
This makes the DJ mixer excellent for all types of users. Most notably it is the cheapest Pioneer unit that is completely club-friendly due to the integrated booth output.

Using The DJM-750MK2
If you’re fairly new to DJing then the DJM-750MK2 can seem a bit daunting but in reality it’s actually quite simple once you get used to it. Below we take a look into the most important sections of the DJM-750MK2. Let’s go.
Mixing Section
The layout of the DJM 750 MK2 is quite straightforward. You have the four channels in the middle of the faceplate. Each has its own input selection knob, a three-band EQ, a trim pot, a Sound Color FX knob, and a volume fader.
You have the option to adjust the curve of the volume fader to your liking, as well as switch the EQ to operate in standard mode and isolator mode.
Magvel Fader™

Each channel faders can be controlled with the input select knob, allowing you to choose between phono, digital, line, or return AUX signal sources.
The line input is intended for CDJs, XDJs, as well as other sources, phono for turntables, digital DJ for use with Rekordbox DJ, and return AUX lets you route the signal coming from the Send/Return to any of the channels.
The AUX signal can be adjusted to a large extent, meaning that you get full control of how much effect you want to put on it, as well as what type of EQ you would like to apply.

USB recording is a feature that we really love. It makes creating mixes on the fly a breeze. You simply connect your DJ mixer to a computer or storage device and are always ready to record spontaneously, without the hassle of setting up all sorts of DAW parameters.
The complimenting DJM-REC app provided by brand Pioneer has great key features to make things even easier. They include clipping control, live streaming to a variety of social platforms, instant internet uploads to Soundcloud, and more.
Once you get used to USB recording, it becomes indispensable.
Effects
The Sound Color FX section of the DJM-750MK2 features 4 options (Noise, Filter, Sweep, Dub Echo). That is two less than on the DJM 900 NXS2, which has the additional Space and Crush.
Unless you specifically use them a lot, the four provided on the DJM-750MK2 cover a lot of ground and they will most likely be enough for most people.
The eleven Beat FX choices (Delay, Spiral, Pitch Pong, Echo, Reverb, Flanger, Roll, Transform, Pitch, Helix, and Vynil Brake) make things a lot more luxurious when it comes to shaping your sound palettes.
You can dial in how much of any given effect you want, and how it applies time signature-wise via the “Beat” and “Time” parameters underneath the Beats FX section.
The tap button can be used to punch in a tempo of your liking, allowing for fast BPM adjustment, as well as an effortless approach to get the effects to be syncopated.
In comparison to the flagship model, the Pioneer DJ DJM 750 MK2 misses the Phaser, Slip Roll, and Filter Beat FX, as well as an X-Pad touch strip.
